Approximately 7 minute drive from Northstar and approximately 5.8 miles from Northstar. Truckee has a Safeway, Save Mart, CVS, Rite Aid, Ace Hardware, New Moon Natural Foods, tons of little shops, stores and restaurants. Public transportation is
available via TART.

Kings Beach, CA:
Approximately 10 minute drive from Northstar and approximately 6.4 miles from Northstar. Kings Beach has a Safeway, Rite Aid, Ace Hardware, lots of great little restaurants, shops, and stores. Public transportation is available via TART and Northstar
employee shuttles.

Donner Lake, CA:
Approximately 12 minute drive from Northstar and approximately 10 miles from Northstar. Donner Lake has a little store Sticks Market however, most of the stores, restaurants and shops will be located in Truckee. No public transportation from Donner Lake to Northstar however, from Truckee to Northstar via TART.

Tahoe vista, CA:
Approximately 12 minute drive from Northstar and approximately 7.3 miles from Northstar. All of the stores, restaurants and shops are located in Kings Beach.  Public transportation is available via TART and Northstar employee shuttles are available from
Kings Beach.

Crystal Bay, NV:
Approximately 13 minute drive from Northstar and approximately 8.8 miles from Northstar. All of the stores, restaurants and shops are located in Kings Beach or Incline Village. Public transportation is available via TART and Northstar employee shuttles
are available from Kings Beach.

Incline Village, NV:
Approximately 17 minute drive from Northstar and approximately 11.3 miles from Northstar. Incline Village has a Village Market, some restaurants, shops and stores. Public transportation is available via TART and Northstar employee shuttles are available from
Kings Beach.

Tahoe City, CA:
Approximately 22 minute drive from Northstar and approximately 14.9 miles from Northstar. Tahoe City has a Safeway, Save Mart, Ace hardware, lots of great little shops, restaurants, mall and stores. Public Transportation is available via TART and Northstar
employee shuttles are available from Kings Beach.

Alpine Meadows, CA:
Approximately 25 minute drive from Northstar and approximately 20 miles from Northstar. Alpine meadows is located in Olympic Valley, all of the stores, restaurants and shops are located in Tahoe City or Truckee. Public transportation is available via TART.

Tahoma, CA:
Approximately 37 minute drive from Northstar and approximately 24.4 miles from Northstar. All the stores, restaurants and shops are located in Tahoe City. Public transportation is available via TART.

Reno, NV:
Reno is approximately 36.4 miles from Northstar with an average commute time of 43 minutes. The best places to look for housing is in Northwest, central, and North Reno. To keep your commute as short as possible try to avoid South Reno, Sparks and any thing east of the airport. You must have a reliable 4×4 or all wheel drive vehicle to commute to work.  Hwy 80 is normally cleared early and often during snow storms, but always check road conditions before driving anywhere  with Caltrans and NDOT. Northstar offers an employee shuttle for transportation to and from Northwest Reno once a day.  Shuttle schedule TBD. Reno has many grocery stores, services, and resources including: Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Costco, Car services, malls, movie theaters, salons and much more. Housing, gas and groceries are normally a more reasonable price in Reno.

There is no public transportation to Northstar however, carpooling and rideshare are available from Zimride, SnowBomb Rideshare Board, Meetup, Craigslist and AlterNetRides.
